The players have been tested many times before their departure and now they have to remain in six-day isolation in which Kovid-19 tests will be done on the first, third, and sixth days. If they come negative in this, then only they will be able to enter the 'bio-bubble' of the tournament and start training. Also, players and support staff will be tested every fifth day during the tournament. All three teams posted photos of their players and support staff prior to departure. The Rajasthan Royals team was completely covered in 'safety gear'.

The defending champions Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore teams will reach UAE on Friday, while the other two teams Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals will reach the weekend. The 60 matches of the IPL will be played in three Venues - Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah for 53 days.
